How do I cancel a subscription?

Subscriptions are managed by the store you bought from, and uninstalling the app does not cancel them.

• iPhone or iPad: Settings > your name > Subscriptions > Docbolt > Cancel Subscription. In the app you can also tap Manage subscription in Settings.
• Mac: App Store > your name > Account Settings > Subscriptions > Manage.
• Android: Google Play app > your profile picture > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions > Docbolt > Cancel subscription.

To avoid being charged for the next period on the App Store, cancel at least 24 hours before it renews. Premium stays active until the end of the period you already paid for.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Apple or Google, because we never receive your payment. For App Store purchases, request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. For Google Play purchases, see Google Play's refund help and request it there. If something went wrong with a purchase, email us too and we'll help where we can.

I bought Premium but it isn't unlocked

Make sure you are signed in with the same Apple Account or Google account you used to buy, then use Restore Purchases in the app's Premium or Settings screen. Purchases don't carry over between the App Store and Google Play, or between Docbolt PDF and Docbolt Office.

Where are my files saved?

• Docbolt PDF on Android: Documents/Docbolt PDF, and images in Pictures/Docbolt PDF.
• Docbolt Office on Android: Documents/Docbolt Office, and images in Pictures/Docbolt Office.
• iPhone, iPad and Mac: in the app's folder in the Files app, or in iCloud Drive or another location you choose.

You can also choose another location when you save or export.

Are my documents uploaded anywhere?

No. Documents are processed on your device and never sent to us. They only leave your device when you share, print or save them to another app or service yourself. Details are in the privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?

We have no account for you and keep no copy of your files, so there is nothing to delete on our side. To remove what the app stores on your device (recent files, favorites, bookmarks, saved signatures, settings), clear it in the app's settings or uninstall the app. Uninstalling does not delete the documents you saved to shared folders; delete those with any file manager if you want them gone. On iPhone, iPad and Mac you can also switch off anonymous usage and crash data in Settings > Privacy.

Do the apps need an internet connection?

Not for reading and editing. On Android, the scanner and text recognition may need a connection once to download their models through Google Play services, and purchases need a connection to reach the store.

Why does the app ask for All files access?

So it can find and list the documents on your device in one place, and copy, move, rename, delete or save files when you ask. It is optional: without it you can still open a file through the system file picker or with "Open with" from another app. The app never uploads your files. You can turn it off at any time in Android Settings > Apps > Special app access > All files access.

Why doesn't the app ask for the camera?

Scanning uses Google's scanner screen in Google Play services (or your camera app), so the app itself does not need the camera permission. Only the pages you confirm are processed.

Which files does Docbolt Office open?

Docbolt Office opens DOCX, XLSX and PPTX files, the formats used by Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, as well as older DOC, XLS and PPT files, RTF, ODT, CSV, plain text and PDF. Complex layouts may look slightly different from the original.
