Terms of Use
1. Agreement
These Terms of Use ("Terms") are an agreement between you and SAE Digital, an independent developer based in Indonesia ("we", "us"), for Docbolt PDF and Docbolt Office on Apple and Android devices (the "Apps"). By downloading or using an App you agree to these Terms. The Apps are licensed, not sold, to you. Apple and Google are not parties to these Terms and are not responsible for the Apps or their content. For the iPhone, iPad and Mac versions, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.
2. Licence
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Apps on devices that you own or control: on Apple devices as permitted by the App Store's Usage Rules, including Family Sharing where enabled, and on Android devices as permitted by the Google Play Terms of Service. You may not reverse-engineer, resell, or redistribute the Apps, except where the law allows it.
3. Your documents and responsibility
Your documents are yours. The Apps process them on your device and we never receive them. You are responsible for having the right to edit, sign, or convert the documents you use, and for keeping your own backups. Autosave and version history reduce the risk of data loss but are not a backup service.
Signatures created with the Apps are images placed on a document. They are not certified digital signatures, and the Apps do not provide electronic stamp duty (e-meterai). Whether a signed document is legally valid depends on the law and on the party receiving it.
"Edit Text" covers existing text and writes new text on top of it; it does not reflow paragraphs. AI features (where available) run on your device and can make mistakes; check important results against the original.
4. Acceptable use
Use the Apps only for lawful purposes. Do not use them to forge documents or signatures, to open or remove protection from documents you are not entitled to access, to infringe anyone's rights, or to bypass or tamper with the Apps' purchase checks.
5. Free features and Premium
Basic features are free, and saving, sharing, and printing are never locked. Premium features are available by:
- Monthly or Yearly subscription (auto-renewing). The Yearly plan may include a free trial for new subscribers.
- Lifetime (a one-time purchase, not a subscription).
- Day Pass (24 hours of Premium from the time of purchase; does not renew).
The options and prices offered are shown in the App before you buy and may differ between the App Store and Google Play. Purchases belong to the store and the App where you made them: an App Store purchase does not unlock an Android App and a Google Play purchase does not unlock an Apple App, and Docbolt PDF and Docbolt Office are purchased separately.
6. Subscriptions, trials, and payment
App Store (iPhone, iPad and Mac)
Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price shown in the App unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period. If you start a free trial, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel at least 24 hours before it ends; any unused part of a trial ends when you buy a subscription. Manage or cancel in Settings > your name > Subscriptions on your device.
Google Play (Android)
Payment is charged to the payment method in your Google Play account when you confirm the purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each period unless you cancel before the renewal date. If you start a free trial, you will be charged when the trial ends unless you cancel before it ends. Manage or cancel in the Google Play app > your profile picture > Payments & subscriptions > Subscriptions. After you cancel, Premium stays active until the end of the period you paid for. Uninstalling an App does not cancel a subscription.
Prices may differ by country and may change. If we raise a subscription price, Apple or Google will notify you as required and, where required, ask for your consent before the new price applies.
7. Day Pass
A Day Pass unlocks Premium in the App where you bought it for 24 hours from the time of purchase. It does not renew automatically, and you can buy another one at any time. Work you saved during the Day Pass stays yours after it ends.
8. Lifetime
Lifetime is a one-time purchase, not a subscription. It unlocks Premium in the App where you bought it for as long as we offer that App, on the devices that use the same Apple Account (including Family Sharing where enabled) or the same Google account, according to the store's rules.
9. Refunds
We never receive your payment, so refunds are handled by the store you bought from. App Store purchases: Apple handles refunds under its policies; you can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com or from Settings > Docbolt Premium > Request a Refund in the App. Google Play purchases: Google handles refunds under the Google Play refund policies; you can request one from Google Play. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund or withdrawal rights you have under the law of your country.
10. Availability and changes
We may update the Apps to fix bugs, add features, or meet App Store or Google Play rules. We will not remove a paid feature you have purchased during an active subscription period without a reasonable alternative or a pro-rata remedy where required by law. Features may depend on your device and operating system version (for example, on-device AI). We may update these Terms; changes are posted on this page with a new date, and material changes are also noted in the Apps' release notes.
11. Warranty disclaimer
The Apps are provided "as is" to the extent permitted by law. We do our best to make them reliable, but we do not guarantee that they will be error-free or uninterrupted.
12. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of documents. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including your statutory rights as a consumer.
13. Third-party terms
Your use of the App Store is subject to Apple's Media Services Terms and Conditions, and your use of Google Play is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service. The Apps use Apple or Android system frameworks, Google ML Kit on Android, and open-source components listed in each App's About screen under their own licences.
14. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Indonesia. We will first try to resolve any dispute through good-faith discussion (musyawarah) within 30 days of written notice to contact@ihwan.id. If unresolved, disputes will be settled by the District Court (Pengadilan Negeri) of Bandung, without prejudice to consumer dispute resolution options (such as BPSK) or to any mandatory consumer protection laws and courts of your country of residence.
